Yesterday I was privileged to spend time with legendary AD Guru “Prahlad Kakkar” at iconic Fergusson College , Pune Amphitheatre ( Heritage and Well restored a must visit ) and fortunate to seat next to him and many candid moments were shared during those time !!
Prahlad is Fergusson College Alumni and he shared many stories about his Fergusson College Days and his College friends were also there so he was very free flowing in his interactions !!
Prahlad had inclination for Literature and Defence Studies and wanted to make a career in Defence following footsteps of his late father Army Colonel but chosen Creative field over Defence on the advice given by Chief of Staff during that time !!
His famous Advertisements are for Brands Like Pepsi with famous advert ( Yeh hai Right Choice Baby! Aha ! , Ye Dil Mange More ) , Maggie with 2 Minutes , Britania with Ting Ting Ti Ting and many more !!
One of the thing he shared about Why he chose Amir Khan for 25 Lacs and not Shahrukh Khan for 6 Lacs for Pepsi Ad in 1993 and in the same Ad given a break to Aishwarya Rai with just 3 sec in the Ad Character Sanju !!
I am sharing this Pepsi Advertisement with you wherein he mentioned that his conviction for going for Amir Khan who was way costlier than Shahrukh Khan wherein he chosen Value For Talent more than Cheaper Option ( Amir Khan was very popular with QSQT Mega Hit than Shahrukh is a good insight for business !!
Another important insight he shared that Advertising is Tickling The Minds of Audience with Results where 2+2 is 22 and not 4 !!
We clicked first photo without Hat and then I realized something is missing and so I requested can we have a photo with your Iconic Black Hat and he obliged to have that as I thought “Robin” as he is being called by his friends and closed ones is incomplete without his signature Black Hat !!
Yesterday I had made a very good decision of attending his talk at Fergusson College and meeting him in person with I had another clashing appointment which I rescheduled given priority to this one and so time well spent and these memories I will cherish forever !!
